Improve the performance of automatic voltage regulator for power system using self-tuning fuzzy-PID controller

The optimal design of the automatic voltage regulators for a synchronous machine are positively reflected on quality stability. This paper is concerned with an AVR by adopting three control techniques. first one was designed according to traditional proportional integration-derived (PID) controller while fuzzy logic adopted in second powerful controller, finally PID regulator (AVR) based technology, selftuning (STFPID) have been tuning gains (KP, KI and KD). To confirm efficiency proposed systems, simulation carried out, results showed that STFPID achieves best performance system, gives preferable tracking low rise time, lower overshoot, least stetting minimal steady state error, ideal response against technology.
